Spinners' Challenge

Updated: Feb 19

Eddy Merckx (probably said something like): "The best rider is the one who can pedal the best, who can turn the pedal the fastest in the biggest gear". This challenge is all about how well you can turn the pedals around at various efforts over various durations. By the end of April you will be a better bike rider!

Whoa! A 3rd grader's doodle - but it's kinda' cute?

To enter: e-mail youngstraining@gmail.com and say "I'm spinning" (or anything you like). I'll add your name to my results table.

Key to the efforts (i.e. Zones): use your Perceived Exertions (what you feel) over power or heart-rate (watts or beats/minute). For example: a 15 second all out sprint in your lowest gear is INDEED a maximum (Z5) effort where the effort may not show up as maximum watts nor beats/minute.

Here's what cadence (rpm's) you need to do for a given duration ( ' = minutes "=seconds)

Download the form (below) to keep track of your challenge results.
